Hafodyrynys RFC 14 v 52 Cwmbran RFC

Despite the heavy rain earlier in the day, the weather was perfect for the 1.00pm kick off at Hafodyrynys RFC.

After a slow start were both teams shook off the pre-season cobwebs James Sully broke through the defensive line to go over for Cwmbran's first try after 15mns. Luca Natale putting over the conversion.

Cwmbran have a scrum on the opponents 5 metre line, The forwards pick and go for three phases then Evan Ash throws a miss pass to Harry Jarvis who scores out wide on the right hand side.

Harry Jarvis attacks from left hand side of the field passing inside and looping around as the attacking line pass the ball from left to right, Jarvis receives the ball back in the centre of the line to go over for his second try, Luca Natale putting over the conversion.

Keiran Jenkins carries the ball from the back of the scrum, driving through the defense and hands to Mikhail Blake to score on left hand side if the posts. Stefan Petrescu putting over the conversion.

Hafodyrynys score a converted try just before half time.

James Sully breaks through the defense to score his second try of the game, Michael Davies scores the conversion.

Following a strong carry bt Taran Moa down the left hand side, the ball is quickly put through the hands for Dewi Taylor to score outside the right hand post.Luca Natale scores his third conversion.

Hafodyrynys get their second converted try.

Cwmbran respond quickly, Ieuan Merchant driving towards the opponents 5 metre line, pops it out to Evan Ash who dives over to score out on the left hand side. Michael Davies puts over a lovely kick to score his second conversion.

Some neat play at speed on the left hand side of the field.Michael Davies passing to Kian Shottle 5 metres out, Kian getting held up just before the line quickly pops the ball back to Michael who goes over to score in the corner.

It turned out to be a very entertaining game with some good rugby played by both sides.
