ABOUT CWMBRAN RFC

Cwmbran RFC was established in 1880 the year that the Welsh Rugby Union was formed. It is one of the largest clubs in South Wales and maintains the traditional community based values that have enabled the development of local talent which supports the continued growth of the club, in addition to producing some famous names in both Welsh and international rugby. The most recent being Ian Gough who played second row for Wales' first team and also played his junior and youth here at Cwmbran RFC.

Cwmbran RFC field teams at senior, youth, touch and also at every recognised mini and junior age group and also has an affilation with Tony's Tiny Crows who provide rugby sessions on saturday mornings at the club for the under 7's, which demonstrates a rare commitment to inclusive development of the sport across the age range and throughout the local community.

The club enjoys a healthy reputation within the rugby community in the South Wales areas, but at Cwmbran RFC is not just about the rugby and we pride ourselves on our unity as a club and our support of the local community.

We host a thriving Sporting Memories group which meet every tuesday and are continually engaging in various projects that involve the local community, as well as aiding our young players in both starting and furthering their careers by working with local businesses
