It was an impressive display for the spectators, as even though both teams had their opportunities, the first twenty minutes of the match were predominantly confined to the centre of the field.
Both teams demonstrated their defensive strengths as they confronted one another, with neither side managing to advance significantly beyond the halfway line.
SENGHENYDD RFC 14 - 43 CWMBRAN RFC
Twenty minutes into the game, after missing an earlier penalty, Senghenydd gained a lineout just five metres from the Cwmbran line. They quickly formed a ruck after securing the ball. As they attempted to move the ball away, David Powell was considered to have deliberately knocked it on, resulting in a yellow card for him. They executed a quick tap and go for a converted try. 7 – 0.
After thirty minutes, Cwmbran managed to score their first points. Following a scrum five metres out on the right side, James Skellett passed the ball to Will Graham, who then got it to Harry Jarvis on the opposite wing. Jarvis scored in the corner, and Aneurin Evans converted to tie the game. 7 – 7.
After thirty-five minutes, Senghenydd applying continuous pressure on the Cwmbran line, despite several phases where Cwmbran held firm, Senghenydd were able to cross the line next to the left-hand upright, resulting in a successful try and conversion. 14 – 7.
Cwmbran made a move just before halftime, with Senghenydd mishandling the ball at the halfway line. Cwmbran propelled the ball forward as both Rian Jones and Harry Jarvis sprinted after it. Harry Jarvis managed to grab it just ahead of the line and placed it in the corner for his second try, 14 – 12

In the second half, Cwmbran put pressure on Senghenydd right from the kick-off.
They were awarded a penalty twenty-five meters out, and Aneurin Evans kicked it to the corner. After winning the line-out and going through a few phases, Cwmbran received another penalty, which Aneurin Evans successfully put through the posts. 14 – 15
After fifty minutes, Cwmbran taking control, successfully execute several phases in the Senghenydd twenty-two. Lewis Hopkins glides into the corner, looping around to place the ball directly behind the posts, with Aneurin Evans making the conversion. 14 – 22.
Fifty-five minutes in, with some relaxed play from Senghenydd, as a loose ball is kicked through by Cwmbran. James Skellett connects with Will Graham to deliver the ball to Jacob Marsh who dives over for a try, another successful conversion from Aneurin Evans. 14 – 29
Senghenydd staged a bit of a comeback after sixty minutes, with three or four phases in the left-hand corner along the Cwmbran line. Ahren Hale seized the ball and passed it across the line to Lewis Hopkins, who demonstrated his skill by stepping around several tackles to relieve the pressure and bring Cwmbran up to the halfway line.
With seventy-two minutes played, Cwmbran extended their lead with a try from Rian Jones in the right-hand corner, which was successfully converted by Aneurin Evans. 14 – 36.
Cwmbran wrap it up with another converted try, again on the right flank, as Harry Jarvis caps off a brilliant performance by scoring his hat trick. 14 - 43
